Andrew Luttrell

Andrew Luttrell - Singer Songwriter / Musician / Artist / Andrew Luttrell Band / The Coal Mountain Ramblers / EchoSeven / Luttrell Noon & Wenger / Rock, Folk, Americana, Blues, Baltimore Maryland

About nine months before fiddle player Kevin Kutz joined the band, The Coal Mountain Ramblers played an "unplugged" show at Bedford's Jean Bonnet Tavern on March 11, 2005. It was probably one of our first advertised public performances, if not the very first. Mark, Tim, and I had only been playing banjo, mandolin & guitar for less than two years, and a lot of traditional bluegrass music was fairly new to me. Although I'd been playing guitar for many years, I was still learning how to both play bluegrass mandolin and sing at the same time. Despite being a packed house that night, it seemed more like a coffeehouse or cafe-type concert because the crowd was unusually quiet so they could hear us better - something we didn't really expect, considering nobody had ever heard of us. We sounded good and more importantly, had a good time.

The sets were recorded by Jim Mimna. Photography by Lindsay Blazin.
